Danielle K. Grau PhD Candidate

About Me

Hello! My name is Danielle Grau. I’m a current fifth-year PhD candidate in glaciology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I’m originally from Fort-Lauderdale, Florida, an area that will be highly impacted by sea-level rise and climate change.

My love of Physics and Mathematics in grade school led me to pursue a BS in Physics at Florida International University. After completing a summer REU in glaciology, I decided to pursue graduate studies that focus on the impact of glaciers on the evolving climate and sea-level rise predictions.

My current research mainly focuses on the relationship between glacial surface roughness and supraglacial melt lake formation, and the impact that supraglacial melt lakes have on large-scale climate and glacial model predictions. I am currently in the final year of my graduate studies and searching for postdoctoral and employment opportunities.
