Danielle Grau PhD Candidate

About Me

Hello! My name is Danielle Grau. I’m a current 5th-year PhD candidate studying glaciology with Alexander Robel at Georgia Institute of Technology. I’m originally from Fort-Lauderdale, Florida, an area that will be highly impacted by sea-level rise and climate change.

My love of Physics and Mathematics in grade school led me to pursue a BSc in Physics at Florida International University. After completing a summer REU in glaciology, I decided to pursue a graduate study that focuses on the impact that glaciers have on climate change and on sea-level rise predictions.

My current research mainly focuses on the relationship between glacial surface roughness and supraglacial melt lake formation, and the impact that supraglacial melt lakes have on large-scale climate/glacial model predictions. As I approach my final year of graduate school, I am currently looking for post-doc opportunities.
